Subject: KFLOP does not respond

Hello,

I have an urgent problem, my kflop card does not respond when I connect the power. The led D1 and D2 dont even light.. I was in my final test phase when kflop stoped to respond so the connections are okay.

I may have an explanation for this issue but I'm not sure... For my stand alone application, I have to copy the coordMotionBuffer in a buffer and in the FLASH memory. I used a different computer which the parameter "Arcs to Segment" (from Trajectory Planner) was set and I copied a project. It took much more time then usually to copy because there was much more data to copy. Is it possible that it overwrited data that should not have ? If yes, is there a way to reset the card.. ? If not do you have an other action to suggest ?

I need to solve this very quickly..

Thank you very much,

Guillaume

Hi Guillaume,

Sorry to hear that. If with everything disconnected the KFLOP LEDs don't at least flash once when power is applied then KFLOP has been damaged or the Primary boot sector altered.

You would need to send the KFLOP back to us to restore the boot sector.

Can you provide us the code that you think might have overwritten the boot sector? If so we can try it here to see if we get the same result. We might also be able to prevent it from happening again.

Regards

TK

Hi TK,

I sent you the C program that may caused the issue. Have you had time to test it ?

We ordered 2 more Kflop because we were in a hurry to deliver a project in time. It works fine for now but I would like to know what happened and if you can restor it. In this case, I will send you back the Kflop.

Thanks,

Guillaume.

Hi Guillaume,

Yes we were able to Brick KFLOP by programming too much data (and wrapping to the boot sector).

We are working on adding additional protection against this.

We can re-Flash your board for you.  Contact our support for an RMA#.

TK
